Static load rating C0
Statische Tragzahl C0
The static load rating C0 is the load a stationary or very slowly rotating bearing can carry without inadmissible plastic deformation of rolling elements and raceways. The standard criterion is a permanent deformation of roughly 0.0001 of the rolling element diameter at the most heavily loaded contact; larger indentations cause noise, vibration and premature failure in later operation.
C0 governs applications with static loads, oscillating movements, very low speeds or shock loads. Adequacy is checked via the static safety factor s0 = C0/P0. A bearing that is generously sized dynamically can still be pre-damaged by a single shock load at standstill.
