FAG 29296-E1-MB Axial-Pendelrollenlager (480x650x103)
Description
As a spherical roller thrust bearing, this bearing carries high axial and moderate radial loads and accommodates misalignment. At 480x650x103 mm and a unit weight of 97.5 kg, the installation envelope is fixed; further technical details are held in the specification table. This version in standard bearing steel is laid out for heavy axial loads where shaft deflection or alignment errors are to be expected.
The spherical roller thrust bearing carries load through barrel-shaped rollers that run at an angle to the bearing axis between a flat shaft washer and a spherical housing washer. Two properties follow from this geometry at once: the roller set can swivel within the spherical raceway and thereby accommodates alignment errors and shaft deflection, and the angled position allows a limited radial share to be taken alongside very high longitudinal forces.
At the same time the contact angle produces a radial reaction force under axial load, which the surrounding design must support. A permanently acting minimum axial force keeps the roller set in rolling contact; the design is typically grease-lubricated or run in oil-lubricated housings, because the friction power has to be carried away under high load.
Standard bearing steel is through-hardened and covers the usual operating-temperature range; for the design, axial force, radial share, misalignment and lubrication should be assessed together. Solid brass cage — Dimensional/form-fit equivalent — verify suffix-level details for critical applications. Matching suffixes are also listed by SKF (M, MA, MB), NSK (M) and NTN (L1, G1, M).
