THK RA13008 C C0 Crossed Roller Bearing (130x146x8)

As a crossed roller bearing, this bearing carries loads from all directions as well as tilting moments. This THK bearing measures 130x146x8 mm and weighs 0.18 kg; the specification table carries the supplementary technical details. Rollers set alternately at ninety degrees — the result is one position doing what would otherwise need a pair of bearings.

The rollers lie alternately at ninety degrees between the raceways, so neighbouring rollers serve oppositely inclined lines of force action. A single position therefore takes radial load, axial load in both directions and tilting moments — work that would otherwise require several bearings in combination, multiplying both space and play. The type is used where an axis must be guided accurately in little space: rotary tables, robot joints, measuring equipment and slewing drives.

Decisive for the result is the stiffness of the surrounding structure: because the bearing is narrow yet transmits moments, a compliant or uneven mounting flange feeds straight into guiding accuracy. The open version leaves sealing, initial filling and relubrication to the surrounding design, while keeping the rolling chamber accessible for a directed supply of lubricant. Rings and rolling elements are made of through-hardened standard bearing steel.
