As a cylindrical roller bearing, this bearing carries high radial loads with limited axial capacity. At 20x42x30 mm and a unit weight of 0.2 kg, the installation envelope is fixed; further technical details are held in the specification table. This version moves the sealing function from the housing into the cylindrical roller bearing itself — the adjacent construction then no longer has to protect the rolling chamber on its own.

The contact seal on both sides closes the rolling chamber of the cylindrical roller bearing off from its surroundings. In practice that means two things: the lubricant introduced stays where the roller set needs it, and dust, wear debris or splash water do not reach the line contact between roller and raceway, where even small hard particles leave indentations behind.

This version therefore suits bearing positions at which adequate housing sealing cannot be realised structurally, or at which relubrication in service cannot be carried out reliably. The counterpart is a higher frictional torque: the seal lip rubs on its counterface, generates heat there and limits speed more distinctly than the rolling contact itself does.

The seal material likewise limits the permissible operating temperature and the compatibility with process media; both have to be checked against the ambient conditions of the bearing position before use. It should also be noted that the seal can restrict the separability of the design — fitting and removal then follow the manufacturer's instructions for the sealed version rather than the procedure for the open roller set.

The load-carrying properties remain unchanged: the line contact of the cylindrical rollers takes the radial force, the rib arrangement determines whether and in which direction the bearing position supports axially, and the roller row tolerates only slight misalignment. The normal radial clearance is matched to common fits and operating temperatures.
