Where inch sizes are still needed
Machines of British and American design, classic agricultural equipment, vintage cars and many imported plants run on inch-dimension bearings. A metric bearing does not fit — 1 inch bore is 25.4 mm, and half a millimetre ruins the fit.
The RLS and R series
The RLS series (also known as Imperial or LJ series) covers bores from 1/2" upwards; the R series the smaller sizes. Designation logic: RLS8 equals 1" bore (25.4 × 57.15 × 15.875 mm). Available open, 2Z and 2RS.
Identification and sourcing
Only know the dimensions? Measure bore, outside diameter and width and use our bearing finder — it accepts odd millimetre values and finds the matching inch bearing. Unlisted inch sizes (RMS, inch taper rollers) via special procurement.
