Housed bearing unit
Gehäuselagereinheit
A housed bearing unit is a ready-to-mount combination of an insert bearing and a matching housing in cast iron, pressed steel, stainless steel or thermoplastic. Main types are pillow blocks (e.g. UCP series), square, oval and round flanged units (UCF, UCFL, UCFC) and take-up units. The insert bearing's spherical outer contour sits in a matching housing seat, allowing it to align itself.
Units bolt directly onto frames without machined bearing seats, with shaft clamping via set screws, eccentric locking collar or adapter sleeve. The spherical seat compensates static misalignment between bearing positions. Most units are sealed, grease-filled and often relubricatable, serving conveyors, agricultural machinery and fans under rough conditions.
