It is not the catalogue radial clearance but the axial play after mounting that decides how stiff and how accurately this arrangement runs.

The contact points on inner and outer ring do not face one another radially but are offset, so the line of force action runs through the bearing at an angle. This geometry allows radial and axial load to be transmitted at the same time, and it makes the position stiffer than a design whose line of action is radial.
